The KerDavid farmhouse is located in a quiet hamlet only 5 km from the bustling town of Pluvigner, with its weekly night market, traditional restaurants and creperies, banks and an excellent supermarket.

The immediate area is a treasure trove of historic towns and medieval castles. Pluvigner is ideally situated in southern Brittany - there are sandy and safe beaches 15 minutes away, and yet it is also in the middle of Brittany's rolling countryside. Visit the standing stones at Carnac, the sophisticated buzz of La-Trinite-sur-Mer, the old towns of Auray or Vannes, the fortified citidal at Port-Louis, cycle the beautiful River Blavet valley, explore the old town and castle at Josselin.....or just sit and enjoy the garden!

Style & Setting...

KerDavid is a character farmhouse typical of the area, is about 60 years old and was completely renovated from top to bottom in the Spring of 2008! A new full-sized heated pool was installed in May 2008 in the large garden. There is a garage and shed on the property which hold 2 mountain bikes to explore the countryside or ride 2 km to the local village Brandivy, for the morning baguette and chocolate croissant.

KerDavid offers wonderfully central access - a 15 minute drive- to sandy and safe beaches, golfing, canal-side cycling, ancient standing stones, medieval towns, art towns, weekly markets and music festivals and parades.

Pool & Grounds...

KerDavid has a spacious garden, a full-size heated swimming pool and lots of room to play! Pool safety meets the French regulations with a safety roll-up cover. It is filtered with the latest combined Chlorine and ozone filtering system to minimize the use of chemical filtering.The original stone well in the garden has been retained and is sealed off for safety.

Sleeps...

The KerDavid sleeps a maximum of 10 people. All the bedrooms have been furnished in a French Provincal style with antique furniture - the loft bedrooms have huge skylights with their own blackout shutters. The garden level of the house has 3 bedrooms - 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds in each (which match each other and could be joined to make double beds) and another double-bed room with its own French doors out onto the garden. There are new 2 bathrooms with towel warmers and a single toilet on this level.

The loft has another romantic double room as well as a loft kids room with 2 single beds - there is a full shower bathroom and toilet on this level. The chestnut floors glow, the stone walls and beamed ceilings have been carefully restored and all the rooms have electrical radiant heaters.

Ideal for...

Shared family times - a group of friends or couples, wanting warm, traditional, luxurious accommodation as well as an in-ground and heated outdoor pool. There is a large sitting room and games area in the loft.

TV & Internet...

The farmhouse is Internet ready for your computer on both levels, has a VOIP phone for European and UK calling and a CD player in the living room. Additionally, there is a TV and DVD player in the living room.

Eating & drinking...

The farmhouse has a dining table for 10 in the open-plan living and dining room, with views over the garden. Al fresco dining is also possible - the outdoor dining table and chairs are stored in the shed next to the garage. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with a dishwasher, a 5-burner hop, an electrical oven, microwave and wood-burning stove. Brittany is often called the 'seafood capital of Europe' and there are any number of market days in nearby towns to select the local fresh produce, amazing seafood and regional cheeses (more info). There is an excellent supermarket within a 5 minute drive, on the outskirts of Pluvigner and wonderful fresh morning baguettes in Brandivy - a 2 km bike ride or walk. Lots of restaurants, creperies and bars in Pluvigner and surrounding towns offer a wide selection, should you want the night off!

Children...

Travel cots and high chairs can be provided, plus stair guards. The Pool is equipped with a safety cover that meets all the French Safety requirements and is easy to roll over the pool when not in use.

Packing tips...pool, golf, cycling & fishing...

The farmhouse supplies linen and indoor towels so please bring YOUR OWN pool and beach towels!

Brittany is Europe's best kept golfing secret. This area is surrounded by international quality golf courses and many cycling options - bring your own helmet - 2 mountain bikes are provided! The canal pathways along the Blavet River stretch for hundreds of kilometers, - stopping for an amazing prix fixe meal at a bar en route certainly bears repeating!

There is also local stream fishing just a 5 minute walk out of the front door of the cottage on the river Scorff - bring wellies or waterproof sandals!
