Rochefort-en-Terre
A little way further south in Morbihan is Rochefort-en-Terre, voted the most beautiful Small Towns of Character, village in France. The planting of flowers everywhere in this medieval village is a sight to behold.
The 12th century castle was restored in the 20th century and is an art centre, surrounded by ramparts that can be explored.
The cobbled streets of Rochefort-en-Terre are lined with half-timbered buildings, many of which house quirky shops selling crafts, wooden toys, handmade candles and giant slabs of nougat. There is a large array of restaurants to explore as well!
